Event Description:
Dr. Niels Eichhorn, a historian who has focused on the global context of the American Civil War in his research, speaks to the Monroe County Historical Society, Monday, April 3, at 7:00 p. m.  The meeting, open to the public, will be in the Conley Building, 104 East Adams Street, Forsyth.
 
His topic is "Sherman's Georgia Campaign and March to the Sea:  Foreign Soldiers and Foreign Perspectives."
 
Enthusiastic about his engagement here, Dr. Eichhorn, a member of the faculty at Middle Georgia State University, has said, "I get to talk Civil War history not even remotely enough."
 
He has presented papers in both English and Germany at some twenty professional conferences from Iowa to Ireland and has published articles in Civil War History and other scholarly journals.
