The Monroe County Movers and Shakers are excited to announce a new unified marketing and branding campaign for the community.  The group is requesting public input to help answer the question:  What makes Monroe County unique and special?  Interested residents are invited to complete the community-wide survey prior to Friday, December 21, 2018 by going online to:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MonroeCountyCommunitySurvey.

This campaign is part of a broader effort to promote consistent messaging, branding, and marketing across all various tourism and economic development entities within Monroe County.  By identifying the traits that make Monroe County unique, the community's marketing efforts can be more effectively targeted to bring visitors, new businesses, and new residents into the community.  Speaking on the importance of this initiative, Forsyth Mayor Eric Wilson said, "City and County governments in Monroe County work well together and we need to market ourselves in a unified way that communicates this."  Monroe County Chairman Greg Tapley added, "Communication between our local governments and our constituents is crucial to any successes we have as a community."  Input from the entire community is very important to the success of this effort, so residents are encouraged to participate.

The Movers and Shakers is a primarily staff-level association of local government officials, economic developers, and business leaders.  The group is dedicated to the purpose of building closer relationships between elected officials and local community members to create a more prosperous Monroe County.  Member organizations include Monroe County, City of Forsyth, City of Culloden, Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce, Development Authority of Monroe County, Forsyth Convention and Visitors Bureau and Forsyth Main Street.  The Movers and Shakers were formed in 2017 and hold regular quarterly meetings of their members.
